A Little Sneak Peek Into My Travel Bucket List10 min read

1. Paris, France

Paris is the ultimate city of love, art, and exceptionally extraordinary monuments.

From French Baroque and Art Deco to Gothic Cathedrals—you’ll get to see here all the best-in-class architecture and design styles that are there in the world. And, you’ll definitely love to hang out under the wrought-iron tower of Eiffel and gobble up the French cuisine (macaroons, I would also suggest! 😛 )

Also, it would be a very bad deal to miss out on the gorgeous lavender fields in Provence!

2. Italy

Italy is home to many treasures like The Vatican City, the Colosseum (largest amphitheater in the world), St. Peter’s Basilica, Trevi Fountain, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Alfami Coast, Florence, and many more. It’s home to Milan as well.

There’s something about Italy that screams love. One vacation here, and you will be convinced that you want to settle down here for the rest of your life. The country (also France) is a must for architecture geeks and art enthusiasts—there would be a lot of things to marvel at.

And, oh, how could I even dare to forget Tuscany?! I personally would love to spend a few days in the Tuscan countryside.

Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy

P.S. Don’t forget to make a wish at the Trevi Fountain if you get to visit there someday! 😉

3. Dublin, Ireland

The first thing that comes to my mind when someone mentions Dublin is….umm, LEPRECHAUNS!

Ireland is particularly famous for its Irish folklore, alcohols, pubs, novels and I spared the space for the last but not the least (and also the famous)—St. Patrick’s Day!

4. The USA

The US is soo gigantic, that even if I spend a year there, it wouldn’t be enough to cover most of the places (unless I get super-rich and travel non-stop).

Goals: Get soaking wet while watching Niagara falls, get lost in the bustling city of New York, raft in The Grand Canyon in Arizona, visit Mount Rushmore, take a trip to Los Angeles, click a selfie at the Cloud Gate Millennium in Chicago, get to Massachusetts, explore the famous and historical Washington DC, walk over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco, and have fun in Disney land.

5. Switzerland

Tell me what’s better than spending a holiday in the Swiss Alps? Pretty much nothing.

Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries in the world, but oh boy, the views are worth it all! Spending a few days in Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, and Zurich are ought to be one unforgettable experience.

You can also learn to make chocolates while in Switzerland. 😉

6. Northern Lights, Norway or Iceland

I know, the talk about Aurora Borealis has become so increasingly common that you can find it on almost every traveler’s bucket list now. But, that doesn’t deter me from putting it on my list, too.

The Northern Lights is one of the most fascinating things nature has bestowed us with, and not every person on the earth can watch it.

7. Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

India is not only rich in traditional values, but it is also rich in culture and heritage. And Jaipur, the Pink City, is the perfect destination to explore all three.

You will get to have all kinds of experiences here—from witnessing the regal monuments to patting the beautifully ornate elephants, Jaipur fulfills all the characteristics of a so-called magical land in India.

P.S. a stay at Umaid Bhawan is totally worth the penny!

Hawa Mahal (The Palace of Winds), Jaipur

8. United Kingdom

London, Edinburg (the castles there look like they popped out of some Disney movie!), Hampshire, Buckingham Palace, and British Museum, Thames river, Liverpool and Manchester, Roman-era Baths—these are some of the major attractions of the UK that one shouldn’t miss at any cost!

Big Ben, London

9. The Maldives

The Maldives is one island country that is ought to be a must on every traveler’s bucket list! From fancy water villas to exotic beaches, Maldives is a paradise for those looking for a refreshing getaway.

P.S. don’t miss the cool water sports (especially scuba diving/snorkeling) and the glow-in-the-night (that happens because of bioluminescence; glad that I took my bio classes seriously, lol.) Vaadhoo island there!

10. Tokyo, Japan

Growing up watching Japanese cartoons, I had always wanted to explore Japan and get to know about its culture and that’s why it had to be on my list. Well, for now, I can only imagine how glorious it must be to witness the cherry blossoms that fall at the rate of five centimeters per second.

P.S. without any second thought, any Anime, Manga, or Studio Ghibli fans would definitely love to be here!

Tokyo, Japan

11. Amsterdam, Netherlands

I can’t get over how beautiful Amsterdam is. It’s surely worth one visit at the least.

12. Kashmir, India

Isn’t it an irony that despite living in India, I still haven’t visited one of the absolutely gorgeous places to ever exist on earth?

The places on my bucket list, also, include Srinagar, and (of course) the beautiful and snowy Gulmarg. And oh! You’ll never be more in love with the hot steaming Maggi than you will in Kashmir. 😉

Kashmir, India

13. Seoul, South Korea

Well, Korea is on my list, majorly because of one thing: KOREAN SKINCARE! There’s nothing like Korean skincare in the entire universe and I just love it, flat-out.

Btw, who wouldn’t love taking bags and bags full of Korean stuff back home with them? 😉

14. Santorini, Greece

An enchanting land of beautiful sunsets, Santorini, is a city where you will actually find yourself forgetting about all your blues and have some moments of respite to yourself.

Note- it’s also a common spot amongst honeymooners. 😉

15. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Technically, this place is already off of my bucket list (I had already been to Dubai in December 2019, and you gotta trust me when I tell you that it was the best Christmas I’ve ever experienced in my entire life!) But, I would love to visit the place one more time (at least, if not more).

Dubai’s development is so rapid that even if you visit after a year or two, you’ll still have a lot of new things to visit in the city. Well, the next time I visit there, I would like to hop on a helicopter and ride over the massive Palm Jumeirah. Or if luck favors me enough, then I would also take a ride in a long black limousine and, or a Ferrari.

Honestly, Dubai is one heck of an amazing place. I can’t get enough of it!

The incredible Burj Khalifa

16. Leh Ladakh, India

I bet you won’t find any Indian who wouldn’t ever want to rent a bike and take a trip to Ladakh. The curvy roads, lakes, valleys, Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, flags fluttering around the whitewashed Stupas, and the exquisite mountains against the expanse of an azure sky that appears to be zooming in as you continue your journey—seems something straight out of a dream, doesn’t it?

If you’re lucky enough, you might even spot a snow leopard! 😉

So, have you ever thought about building your own travel bucket list? If yes, then what are the countries or places that you would like to include in it? Drop ’em in the comments below! 😉

Much Love,

P.S. Well, maybe I would be able to tick off only one or two points out of this list, or maybe, none at all. It all depends on what life has in store for me, but the last time I checked, it wasn’t a sin to dream big things. 😉

P.P.S. I could add many more places like Egypt, Budapest, Cappadocia in Turkey, etc. but I think those 16 places listed above are already too much to handle. 😛
